RIO VERDE, Ariz.---Freshman Allison Mayborg shot a final round 77 to secure her second top-20 finish of the season during final round play at the East/West Rio Verde Invitational on Saturday.
Mayborg finished the tournament with a three-round score of 232, her second-lowest score of the year. She opened the tournament with rounds of 78 and 77.
In the team standings, UC finished 16th of 18 teams after shooting a 323 on Saturday to finish at 971. Michigan won the team title with a score of 900, after leading all three rounds of the tournament.
Mayborg?s classmate, Hillery Wilson, continued her turnaround from a rough first round with a final round 76 to end the tournament tied for 44th at 241.
The UC women will be back in action next weekend when they travel to St. Croix, Virgin Islands for the three-day St. Croix Collegiate Classic.
