Bob Huggins is happy with the Bearcats NCAA Tournament draw. |
The Bearcats will not be looking past Thursday's first round NCAA Tournament game with Iowa to a potential matchup with Kentucky, Eric Hicks promised.
"We know that we've got to take care of business with Iowa. That is going to be our focus," the junior forward told the media on Sunday evening, shortly after the tournament pairing were announced.
Cincinnati, 24-7, was seeded No. 7 in the NCAA, and will take on No. 10 seed Iowa, 21-11, on Thursday, at approximately 3 p.m. ET, at Indianapolis. A win would advance UC to Saturday's second round of play, where the Bearcats would meet No. 2 seed Kentucky, providing the Wildcats overcome first round foe Eastern Kentucky.
The games will be played at the RCA Dome, and as of Sunday, tickets were available. All session tickets, priced at $150 for lower arena seats and $90 for upper arena seating, can be purchased on-line at www.Ticketmaster.com.
UC's allotment of tickets for the sessions in which Cincinnati will participate are committed through its obligations to UCATS. Additionally, UC will hold a lottery for UC students to purchase a limited number of tickets, beginning at 12 noon on Monday at One Edwards Center. Lottery winners will be announced on Monday evening.
The Bearcats will be making their 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and the school's 24th overall appearance.
