CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati has suspended men's basketball assistant coach Keith LeGree indefinitely following his arrest for a driving while under the influence charge.

The suspension will be in place until a total evaluation is completed. LeGree will continue to receive his salary during the evaluation but will forfeit all other benefits, be totally separated from the program and will not be allowed to represent the university in any way.

"This is totally shocking to me, in view of the harm and hurt that has already been caused to individuals, our men's basketball program and this university," UC director of athletics Bob Goin stated about the incident.

"Our image has taken yet another big hit by the careless action of someone, who given the events of the past year, should have been very much aware of the consequences. "The fact that we have recently had another major incident of this sort will mean that this will not necessarily be treated as a first-time offense," Goin added.

LeGree has completed his fifth season on the UC coaching staff. The point guard on the 1994-95 and 1995-96 Bearcat teams rejoined the program as video coordinator in 1998 and served one year as an assistant in the junior college ranks before returning as assistant coach in 2000.
