Bearcats Strong At Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Kenny Wade won both the 100 and 200 meter dash at the competitive Raleigh Relays today at the Paul Derr Track & Field Stadium on the campus of North Carolina State University.
Wade, a 2004 NCAA qualifier, ran a 10.62 in the 100 and a regional-qualifying 21.07 in the 20.
Tyler Grieves plaed seventh in the men's high jump, leaping 6' 6-3/4".
Dan Albrinck and Chad Beamer finished second and fifth, respectively, in the pole vault. Albrinck cleared 15' 3", while Beamer posted a 14' 9" vault.
In the long jump, Chandler Groves (23' 8") and Cameron Widget (23' 3-1/2") finished second and fourth, respectively.
The Bearcats' 4 x 200 relay team placed third with a 1:27.77.
Renee Hein finished second in the high jump with a leap of 5' 10-3/4", just 1/4" short of a school record.
In the pole vault, Brittany Klima placed fifth, clearing 11' 7-3/4".
Jocelyn Gibson was a sixth-place finisher in the 800 meters, posting a 2:16.52.
The Bearcats are back in action on April 2, hosting the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational at Gettler Stadium. Field events get undway at 11 a.m.
