Ann Degenstein added to her list of accolades, earning 2005 C-USA Swimmer of the Year honors

IRVING, Texas -- University of Cincinnati junior Ann Degenstein (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) was named the 2005 Conference USA Swimmer of the Year today following a vote by the conference's head swimming and diving coaches. It marks the second honor in four years for the Bearcats, as Maria Oberg earned the award following the 2002 season.

Degenstein was the only C-USA swimmer to place at the 2005 NCAA Championships, finishing 11th in the 100 butterfly and 14th in the 200 butterfly. She was a 2005 C-USA champion in the 200 butterfly and the 500 freestyle, and holds conference records in both butterfly events and the UC record in the 200 fly.

Degenstein, a seven-time C-USA champ, was named to the conference's All-Decade Team earlier this year. She was also named C-USA Freshman Swimmer of the Year in 2003.

Houston's Anna Keiss was named the 2005 C-USA Diver of the Year.
