Adam Fluty was one of three Bearcats to shoot a 79 Friday at Eastern Kentucky.

RICHMOND, Ky.?Bad weather that caused the suspension of the second round of the EKU Spring Invitational lingered through the night and into Saturday morning, forcing the cancellation of the final two rounds of the EKU Invitational.

Both UC golf teams will be in action on Monday and Tuesday during the first-ever UC/UD College Invitational. Monday's round will be held at Clovernook Golf Course in Cincinnati, with Tuesday's round being played at Yankee Trace in Dayton.



Freshman Kyle Pinger made an immediate impact, leading the University of Cincinnati men?s golf team during day one of the Eastern Kentucky Spring Intercollegiate.

Pinger, making his Cincinnati debut, paced the Bearcats with an opening round 78 to tie for 47th in the individual standings. The tournament?s second round, also scheduled for Friday, was suspended due to rain.

Trailing Pinger for UC was a trio of Bearcat player, tied for 53rd with identical rounds of 79. Junior Adam Fluty and sophomores Joe Young and Geoff Newman all helped the Bearcats to a tie for 13th in the team standings.

The team rankings show Eastern Kentucky on top by one stroke over Tennessee Tech. EKU shot a combined 291 on day. UC is tied Cleveland State with scores of 315 and is just six strokes out of 10th place.
