CENTERVILLE, Ohio---Behind a second round 74 from Joe Young and a 76 from Geoff Newman, the University of Cincinnati finished a season-best second at the UC/UD Men?s Golf Invitational, which concluded today at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace.
Newman led the Bearcats, setting a season-best by tying for second individually with a final score of 149. Young finished just three strokes behind Newman, tied for fifth overall.
In the team standings, UC missed taking the team title by just two strokes. IUPUI won the team title with a score of 604, while Dayton was third at 611.
Junior John Clodfelder also finished in the top-10 with a final score of 154.
The Bearcats will be back in action in their final tune-up for the Conference USA Tournament next week. UC will travel to Madison, Ill. to take part in the Billiken Invitational, hosted by Saint Louis on April 11-12.
