LOUISVILLE, Kentucky --- The University of Cincinnati dropped its fourth consecutive match1-6 in a loss to nationally ranked Louisville at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Wednesday. The Bearcats? record falls to 4-13 while Louisville improves to 20-7.
The Cardinals? play proved too strong for the Bearcats as they won five of six singles matches and two of three doubles matches. Cincinnati?s two wins of the day came by default.
Cincinnati senior Cristina Reyes faced a difficult foe in Louisville?s Leslie Stewart at the first singles position. Despite winning the first set, Reyes eventually fell 2-6, 6-2, 10-7. Hannah Hinton and Samantha Liu also fought a tough battle at first doubles before being defeated by Natalie Laszkowski and Kelly Taylor, 9-7.
The Bearcats face crosstown rival Xavier on Sunday at 1:00 at the Xavier Tennis Courts in their final match of the regular season.
