It will be a few months before Jason Maxiell will learn of his status is the NBA selection process, but the Cincinnati senior is already a first round draft pick. The New Jersey Flyers made Maxiell the second pick of the United States Basketball League draft.
Iowa State?s Jared Homan was the top pick of the USBL draft. Other familiar names include Louisville?s Ellis Myles (first round, No. 8) and Marquette?s Travis Diener (second round, No. 1).
The USFL season opens next week and runs through June.
