Senior Julie Klauck defeated Xavier's Jackie Vilines 6-2, 7-6 (6) on Sunday.

CINCINNATI, Ohio --- The University of Cincinnati Bearcats finished their regular season on Sunday with a 6-1 loss to Xavier at the Xavier Tennis Courts.

Senior Julie Klauck picked up the win for the Bearcats by beating Xavier sophomore Jackie Vilines 6-2, 7-6 (6). The victory improves her record to 5-2 at the number four singles position. Cincinnati?s Madison Reasoner also played a tough tiebreaker, but was unable to force a third set. She fell to the Musketeers? Sarah Potts 6-2, 7-6 (3).

Xavier swept the Bearcats in doubles play, but not without some resistance from the Klauck sisters. Vilines and Alicia Papa maintained the sweep by winning 9-7. Cincinnati completes the regular season with a record of 4-14. Xavier improves to 14-6.

Cincinnati will next play in the Conference USA Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. Tournament play begins Wednesday, April 20.
