UC Men's Golf In 11th At C-USA Tourney

GULFPORT, Miss.---The University of Cincinnati men?s golf team finds itself in 11th place after the opening day of the 2005 Conference USA Tournament, hosted by Southern Miss. UC is just three strokes back of 10th-place Marquette at the conclusion of the first of a 54-hole, three-day tournament.
Individually, junior John Clodfelder is pacing the Bearcats, tied for 30th after an opening round 75. Clodfelder is just two strokes ahead of freshman Kyle Pinger who is tied for 41st.
In the team standings, TCU is dominating the field, leading by eight strokes after 18 holes. The Horned Frogs shot a 10-under par 278 to lead UAB. UC opened play with a score of 309.
Day two of the event from The Grand Bear will kick off tomorrow, with the tournament wrapping up on Wednesday.
