Adam Fluty shot a 73 on Tuesday at the Conference USA Championship.

GULFPORT, Miss.---The University of Cincinnati men?s golf team remains in 11th place after day two of the 2005 Conference USA Championship, hosted by Southern Miss.

After shooting a 309 on Monday, the Bearcats shaved two strokes off its round two total and sit just two shots behind 10th-place Marquette. If UC can pass Marquette, the Bearcats will secure their first top-10 finish at the C-USA tourney since 2001. TCU continues to build on its lead in the team standings, opening up a 19-stroke lead after 36 holes.

Individually, junior Adam Fluty was the biggest mover of the day for the Bearcats, jumping 20 spots to a tie for 33rd. Fluty shot a 73 on Tuesday and is at 152 after two rounds.

Sophomore Joe Young also made a big jump for UC, climbing to a tie for 44th after a 75 on Tuesday.

The 54-hole, three-day tournament will wrap up on Wednesday at The Grand Bear Golf Club.
