UC Soccer Hosts Alumni Weekend

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati men's and women's soccer programs will host their annual Alumni Weekend on April 29-30 at Gettler Stadium. The weekend will include a clinic, alumni matches and fun for all ages.
Kicking off the weekend on Friday, April 29, the UC women will host the Cincinnati Showcase at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats will play the Greater Toledo Futbol Club at 6 p.m. in a 60 minute match, followed by a date with Ohio University at 7:30 p.m. At 9, OU will take on GTFC in the final match of the evening.
On Saturday morning, the UC men's and women's teams will hold a free clinic for Clifton Soccer Association for Youth (SAY) members beginning at 9 a.m. All youth soccer players ages five and up are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring their own ball. Prizes and autographs will be available to participants.
"The clinic is a great way to give back to the community," said head men's coach Hylton Dayes. "It will be an exciting weekend for soccer in our area." "We are embracing the philospohy of the university by supporting the community," commented head women's coach Meridy Glenn. "It really ties in with UC 21 and UC's future."
Following the youth clinic, the men and women will play the annual alumni matches. Bearcats of old will reunite and take the field against the current members of the team. Kickoff for the women's match is set for 12 p.m. while the men will get underway at approximately 2 p.m.
Paid parking will be available at Corry lot and Corry Garage. The Gettler Stadium concession stand will be open and fans are encouraged to come cheer on their favorite current and former Bearcats.
