Five Bearcats Sign as NFL Free Agents

Gino Guidugli signed with the Tennessee Titans.

Five members of the University of Cincinnati?s 2004 football team have signed free agent contracts with NFL clubs, joining the three Bearcats who were selected in last weekend?s draft.

- Jamar Enzor, UC?s 6-1, 238 middle linebacker from Havanna, Fla., signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. A two-year starter who twice earned All-Conference USA honors, Enzor was the team?s third-leading tackler in 2004 (73) after leading the 2003 team in tackling (137).

- Andre Frazier, a three-year regular as a 6-5, 240 defensive end, signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. A Cincinnati native who originally joined the UC team as a walk-on, Frazier finished second in career sacks (22.5) and fifth in tackles for loss (44.5), earning all-league recognition his junior and senior years.

- Gino Guidugli, who capped his career as Cincinnati?s all-time leading passer, signed with the Tennessee Titans. The 6-3, 225 Ft. Thomas, Ky. product passed for 11,453 yards and 78 touchdowns during his four seasons as a starter and finished his career holding 13 passing and four total offense records.

- Hannibal Thomas, a 6-3, 205 wide receiver from Englewood, Calif., signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Thomas transferred to UC in 2003 from junior college and was UC?s leading receiver in 2004 with 64 catchers for 1,028 yards, both fourth-highest season totals by a Bearcat, and nine TDs.

- Mike Wright, a6-5, 290 defensive tackle, signed with the New England Patriots. Wright, a Cincinnati native, was a two-year starter on the defensive front and was seventh on the 2004 squad in tackles (42).

The three Bearcats taken in the NFL draft were defensive end Trent Cole,, selected in the fifth round by the Philadelphia Eagles, linebacker Tyjuan Hagler, a fifth round pick by the Indianapolis Colts, and cornerback Daven Holly, who was taken in the seventh round by the San Francisco 49ers.

In 2004, eight former Bearcats were on NFL Rosters: Anthony Chatman, WR, Green Bay; Troy Evans, LB, Houston; Jason Fabini, OT, New York Jets; Artrell Hawkins, CB, Carolina; Mario Monds, DT, Miami; Zach Norton, CB, Baltimore; Antwan Peek, LB, Houston; and Robert Tate, CB, Arizona.
