Head Coach Bob Huggins' announces the seventh member of UC's 2005 recruiting class.

CINCINNATI, Ohio-- The University of Cincinnati men?s basketball program has signed point guard Domonic Tilford of Jeffersontown High School in Louisville to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Bob Huggins announced today. Tilford, who becomes the seventh member of the 2005-06 recruiting class for the Bearcats, was most recently named Mr. Basketball in the state of Kentucky.

The 5-11, 160-pound Tilford was a first team All-State selection following his senior season after he averaged 20.6 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds while leading Jeffersontown to a 29-5 record and a berth in the regional finals. Tilford, who was also named the Louisville Courier Journal and Associated Press Player of the Year in the state this past year, shot 45 percent from the field and 85 percent from the charity stripe.

?Domonic is a very talented player who can do a lot of things,? Huggins said. ?He plays with a lot of energy and will be an integral part of our up and coming young backcourt here at Cincinnati.?

A four-year starter at Jeffersontown High School, Tilford earned Most Valuable Player honors at the King of the Bluegrass Classic while leading the Chargers to the tourney title. Tilford scored 2,026 points in his career, becoming only the 18th player in the history of Louisville high school basketball to top the 2,000-point mark. Tilford will compete this summer in the Kentucky-Indiana High School All-Star games.

Tilford is the third spring signee for the Bearcats, joining Ivan Johnson (6-8, F, San Antonio, Texas) from Los Angeles Southwest College, who signed with UC last week, and DeAndre Coleman (6-6, F, Stone Mountain, Ga.), who signed last month.

The three spring signees join the four UC signed last November, which included three prep standouts; Devan Downey (5-10, G, Chester, S.C.), Tyree Evans (6-3, G, Richmond, Va.), and Abdul Herrera (6-10, C, Miami, Fla.), along with junior college transfer Cedric McGowan (6-7, F, Miami, Fla.) from Kilgore College in Texas.
