CINCINNATI, Ohio-- University of Cincinnati freshman forward Roy Bright has been dismissed from the Bearcat basketball team, effective immediately, by head coach Bob Huggins after Bright confirmed he was in possession of a firearm on the UC campus this week.

The matter remains under investigation by UC Police.

Bright, a 6-6 forward from Durham, N.C., played in all 33 games for the Bearcats as a freshman this past season. He averaged 4.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and started five games. Bright, who posted back-to-back double-doubles against Jackson State and LaSalle last December, averaged almost 14 minutes per game.
