Former Bearcat Kevin Youkilis was named to Conference USA's All-Decade Team.

IRVING, Texas---Former Bearcat great and current Boston Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis has been named to Conference USA?s All-Decade Team, recognizing the top 10 players in the 10-year history of the league.

Youkilis played for Cincinnati from 1998-2001, before being drafted by Boston in the eighth round of the 2001 draft. At UC, Youkilis was a three-time all-conference selection, including a pair of first team honors. He was also lauded as an All-American following his senior year.

A .366 career hitter, Youkilis holds or shares 10 Cincinnati season or career marks. He is also ranked among the C-USA leaders in career RBI, hits, home runs, doubles, runs and total bases. During his career, Youkilis led C-USA in hitting (2001), runs (2000), home runs (2000) and walks (2000, 01).

This season, Youkilis has appeared in 13 games for the Red Sox, hitting .353 with three doubles and seven RBI. As a rookie last season, Youkilis homered in his first major league game and was named the American League?s Rookie of the Month for May.

The 10-member team was voted on by current C-USA coaches. The squad is part of the league?s celebration, recognizing its 10th anniversary.
