CINCINNATI, Ohio---Sophomore women?s golfer Mya Pronschinske (Pro-SHIN-ski) has been chosen as the University of Cincinnati?s representative for the ninth annual NCAA Leadership Conference. The event which brings together student-athletes from Divisions I, II and III from across the nation, will be held May 29-June 2 at the Coronado Springs Resort and Walt Disney World Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

The goal of the conference each year is to provide an opportunity for student-athletes to gather and discuss key issues, while giving them a chance to develop skills that will make them more effective leaders upon returning to their respective campuses.

Some of the topics that will be discussed during the five-day conference include the demands and expectations of student-athletes; inclusion education; international student-athlete experiences; recruiting visits; student-athlete responsibility; party behaviors; trust gaps within intercollegiate athletics and sportsmanship.

In addition to being a member of the UC women?s golf team, Pronschinske (Cochrane, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain) has been heavily involved with community service. She is the golf team?s representative to SAAC and was recently elected as co-vice president of CPAWS for the coming year. Pronschinske is also a member of the Learning Community Student Council, the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Through CPAWS, she has been involved in Make A Difference Day, Crosstown Helpout, Ronald McDonald House and the Drop-Inn Center.

The conference is an outreach of the CHAMPS/Life Skills program. Each NCAA institution that is a member of the CHAMPS/Life Skills program can nominate four student-athletes from their campus for the event. Student-athletes must be in good academic standing and have athletics eligibility remaining to be eligible for the conference. The selection committee consists of seven administrators from campus institutions and three NCAA interns.
