CINCINNATI, Ohio---Jessie Nevitt, a redshirt freshman to be on the University of Cincinnati volleyball team, will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina next week with a team of select USA collegiate players to compete against the Argentine Junior National Team.

From June 7-18, Nevitt (Kennesaw, Ga./Kennesaw Mountain) and 21 other upper-level current collegiate players will train with and play against Argentina?s Junior National team. At the request of the Argentine Federation, Bring It Promotions has assembled a team of collegiate players to travel to South America to prepare the Argentine squad for its summer competitions.

?This is a great opportunity for Jessie,? stated Cincinnati head coach Reed Sunahara. ?It will give her instant experience as she gets ready for the upcoming season. She will be playing against top caliber players and teams and it will help her gain the experience she missed while redshirting last year.?

Nevitt redshirted during the 2004 season after joining UC from Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Ga. She is expected to contribute as a middle blocker this fall after the graduation of three-year starter Rachel Torblaa.

Bring It Promotions is headed by Tim Kelly, a longtime friend of Sunahara?s. BIP is the same organization that sent Sunahara and Julie DuPont to Europe last spring, while also coordinating the UC team?s trip overseas in 2002. The coaches for the trip will be Tom Hilbert of Colorado State, former USA National Team Assistant Coach Kevin Hambly, Mark Rosen of Michigan and Santiago Restrepo of Oklahoma.

During the trip, Nevitt is expected to contribute journal updates and photos that will be featured on www.ucbearcats.com. For more information, you can also log on to www.bringitusa.com/events/argentina_2005.
