CINCINNATI, Ohio---College baseball summer leagues all over the country have opened their respective seasons and once again the University of Cincinnati is well represented across the nation.
A total of 10 current UC players are placed in leagues in Ohio and beyond. The complete list of placings includees:
? Dustin Alvey and Adam Calez?Kentucky Royals
? Jon DeLuca?Amsterdam Mohawks of the New York Collegiate Baseball League
? Neall French?Delaware Cows of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League
? Jake Geglein and A.J. Upton?Champions Baseball Academy (Cincinnati)
? LaFringe Hayes?LaCrosse Loggers of the Northwoods League
? Jack Nelson?Anchorage Bucs of the Alaska Baseball League
? Logan Parker?McKinney Marshals of the Texas Collegiate League
? Brian Szarmach?Wheaton (IL) White Sox
In addition, former Bearcats Mark Haske and Josh Kay will make their professional debuts next week after being selected in the MLB Draft two weeks ago. Haske, a member of the Detroit Tigers? organization, opens play with the Oneonta Tigers of the New York-Penn League on Tuesday, June 21. Kay, an Oakland A?s farmhand, also will get started on the 21st, playing for the ASL Athletics of the Arizona League.
