CINCINNATI, Ohio ? Becki Poeppelmeier, who served as an assistant women?s soccer coach at the University of Cincinnati in 2001 and 2002, is returning to Meridy Glenn?s staff as an assistant coach.
?I am very excited to be back at the University of Cincinnati,? Poeppelmeier said. ?This is a great time to be joining the program as we head to the BIG EAST.?
In her previous stint at UC, Poeppelmeier was responsible for all team travel and fundraising, as well as acting as the team?s recruiting coordinator. During her tenure, the Bearcats won two Conference USA tournament titles, a regular season title, and made two trips to the NCAA College Cup. The Bearcats posted a 37-8-3 record in her two seasons.
Poeppelmeier has had a great deal of experience with premier club teams. For the past year, she was the Girls Director of Coaching for the St. Louis Stars Soccer Club. Prior to joining the Bearcat staff in 2001, Poeppelmeier was a head coach for the Olympic Development Program?s Ohio South program.
Poeppelmeier served as an assistant for two seasons at the College of Wooster during the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
A defensive standout at Wilmington College, the two-year team captain earned All-Region and All-Ohio honors and led the Quakers to the NCAA Tournament in 1994, 1996, and 1997.
Poeppelmeier earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilmington in 1998 and completed her Master?s degree in secondary education at Missouri-St. Louis in 2004. She holds both the USSF National C license and the NSCAA National license.
