CINCINNATI, Ohio---Brad Meador, an assistant coach at Cincinnati since 1999, has been promoted to associate head coach, UC head coach Brian Cleary announced. With the promotion, Meador will remain the program's recruiting coordinator, while also continuing to mentor the squad's infielders.
"I am very grateful to Coach Cleary and the administration for this promotion," Meador stated. "The University of Cincinnati has been a wonderful place for me and my family. It is a special time to be at UC, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.
"We've accomplished many things here and I feel that heading into the BIG EAST with our new facilities that our best days are in front of us."
Meador joined the Bearcat staff after two successful seasons at New Mexico State, where he worked with the Aggies' hitters and infielders. He also worked as a camp instructor at his alma mater, Oklahoma State, serving under the legendary Gary Ward.
Since arriving in Cincinnati, Meador has handled a variety of roles, including coaching the bases and working with hitters, infielders and outfielders. Off the field, Meador has had a hand in nearly every area of administration, being named recruiting coordinator prior to the 2004 season.
"Brad has played such a large role in the development of our program in so many areas," Cleary said. "He has been very loyal to me and to the University. This promotion is well deserved and is indicative of his many responsibilities. I am looking forward to Brad's continued contributions as we prepare to compete in the BIG EAST."
Meador and his wife Kara are the parents of two children, Brooke (2) and Ryan (born in May).
