CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Seventeen games against teams which appeared in postseason play last season highlight the University of Cincinnati's 2005-06 men's basketball schedule.
The Bearcats will have 11 games against teams which participated in the NCAA Tournament, five vs. schools that advanced to the Sweet 16 or beyond, and six from last year's NIT.
UC's home schedule will feature 2003 national champion Syracuse, 2005 Final Four participant Louisville, and West Virginia and Villanova, which advanced to the Elite Eight and Sweet 16, respectively, last year.
Also slated for appearances in Fifth Third Arena are longtime conference rival Memphis, which reached the Final Four of the NIT, Dayton, Miami (Ohio), Ohio University and Murray State and BIG EAST foes DePaul, Marquette, Providence, Rutgers and South Florida. The Miami game will be played at U.S. Bank Arena.
UC will have road trips to 2004 national champion Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Georgetown, and Marquette, in addition to Syracuse, Louisville and West Virginia, and will play non-conference road games at Xavier and Vanderbilt.
The Bearcats' schedule features 18 games against teams which were ranked in the Top 100 of the final RPI or Sagrin Index ratings, 10 contests against schools which finished in the Top 50.
UC men's basketball season tickets, which include 19 games at Fifth Third Arena and one at U.S. Bank Arena, are currently on sale, and more than 10 percent of the season tickets available have been reduced in price since last year.
Tickets in Preferred Seating locations require a donation to the UC Athletic Team Scholarship Fund and the purchase of Bearcat football season tickets. Those basketball season tickets range in cost from $370-$425, plus the required donation as determined by seating location. Tickets located outside the Preferred Seating locations are available without a required donation at a cost of $291.
