SOMERSET, N.J.---Adam Fluty shot a 70 and Joe Young a 71 to help the University of Cincinnati men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Rutgers Invitational, which concluded on Saturday at the Rutgers University Golf Course.
Young climbed to 18th in the final standings after completing the tournament with a score of 218. Fluty rebounded from two rounds of 75 on Friday, by shooting a team-low round of 70 to wind up tied for 25th in the overall standings.
The team rankings saw the Bearcats slide up to eighth place in the completed rundown, after sitting ninth through 36 holes. UC finished the tournament with a team score of 882, trailing BIG EAST rival Connecticut by four strokes. Columbia won the team title with an even-par score of 852.
The Bearcats are back on the links Sept. 26-27 when the compete in the John Dallio Memorial, hosted by DePaul.
