CINCINNATI, Ohio -- University of Cincinnati men's soccer player Omar Cummings (Old Harbour, Jamaica/Cincinnati State) has been named Soccer America Player of the Week after leading the Bearcats to a 2-0 victory against then-No. 1 UConn on Sept. 16.

Cummings scored both goals in the win, leading UC to a 2-0-0 record in BIG EAST play. Cincinnati currently leads the BIG EAST's Red Division with a 2-0-1 record.

Along with player of the week honors, Cummings was also named to Soccer America's Team of the Week. He was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the week on Monday. The junior forward leads UC with three goals and six points and currently ranks second in the BIG EAST with 25 shots.

The Bearcats hit the road for two BIG EAST matches this weekend, first visiting Marquette on Sept. 23. UC will then take on Notre Dame, ranked as high as No. 15 by Soccer America, on Sept. 25.
