EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Senior Jill Klauck and freshman Jenny Rowen each won consolation championships at the Spartan Cup on Sunday, hosted by Michigan State.
Klauck defeated Michigan State's Pascale Schnitzer, 6-4, 6-2, to claim the Flight A consolation title. For the weekend she won three-straight matches after dropping her opener. Rowen won the Flight B consolation title by forfeit.
In extra matches played on Sunday, Lindsay Willeford won twice, as did the doubles tandem of freshmen Andrea Phillips and Carling Arundel.
UC is next in action at the Wolerine Invitational hosted by Michigan next weekend.
