STORRS, Conn. -- The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision against No. 16 Connecticut tonight at UConn's Morrone Stadium. The Huskies used two goals from freshman Brittany Tegeler to improve to 8-2-1 overall and a perfect 4-0-0 in conference play. The Bearcats fall to 2-6-3 overall and 0-3-1 in BIG EAST action.

The Huskies got on the board quickly on Tegeler's first goal in the seventh minute after a corner kick by Jennifer Sullivan. UConn increased its lead to two goals just under 10 minutes later as Teleger sent a cross to Brittany Taylor, who beat UC keeper Sherry Slye (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) for her fifth goal of the season.

The Huskies outshot the Bearcats, 6-1, in the first half and took the 2-0 lead into the second stanza. In the 59th minute, Teleger struck again, this time from 25 yards out to provide the final margin. Huskie goalkeepers Stephanie Labbe and Megan Jessee posted UConn's sixth shutout of the season.

Slye made five saves, but UC was outshot, 15-2, in the contest and has not won since a 1-0 victory at Central Michigan on Sept. 11.

Cincinnati will travel to Providence for a BIG EAST showdown with the Friars on Sunday, Oct. 2. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
