ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Four Bearcats won first round matches at the Wolverine Tennis Invitational hosted by Michigan on Friday.
Senior Jill Klauck topped Marquette's Maria Calberto in the Blue Flight, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(8), and will have her second round match on Saturday. In the Maize Flight, Jenny Rowen defeated Dominika Dabrowski, also from Marquette, 7-5, 6-3, before falling to Western Michigan's Carrie Jeanmaire in the second round. Madison Reasoner and Carling Arundel each won matches in the Wolverine Flight, but fell in the second round.
In round robin doubles play, the no. 2 team of Klauck and Elizabeth Young earned UC's only win, 8-5, over a team from Bowling Green. The tournament continues through Sunday.
