PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The University of Cincinnati volleyball team will make two live appearances on ESPNU during the month of October, UC and the BIG EAST Conference announced. The Bearcats' Oct. 16 home match with Louisville and the Oct. 30 contest at Notre Dame will both be available to a national audience on ESPN's newest network.
The Louisville contest, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15, will now be played on Sunday afternoon with a 12:30 p.m. start. The match at Notre Dame will remain on Sunday, Oct. 30, but will be moved up to a 12:30 p.m. ET start instead of the originally scheduled 3 p.m. ET beginning.
"This is obviously a huge opportunity for the Cincinnati program," stated UC head coach Reed Sunahara. "We are thrilled that ESPN thinks so highly of us to put us on their network twice. The effect this will have on recruiting will be tremendous and we look forward to representing the University and the BIG EAST in a positive light."
The match-up with Louisville is part of Homecoming Weekend on UC's campus and tickets for the event will be available at the gate for just $1. Both Louisville and Notre Dame were ranked among the nation's top-10 in the most recent CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll.
