SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Richmond Kickers, captained by former University of Cincinnati standout Tim Brown, fell to the Seattle Sounders in the United Soccer Leagues First Division Championship match on Oct. 1 before a crowd of 8, 011 at Qwest Field. The Sounders edged the Kickers, 4-3, in penalty kicks after the two squads fought to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.

Brown, a midfielder, played all 120 minutes in the contest, but did not take a penalty kick. A four-year letterwinner at UC, Brown scored 12 career goals and added seven assists. He was a first team All-Conference USA performer in 2004 after leading the Bearcats to their first-ever C-USA title and second NCAA College Cup.

The USL First Division consists of 12 clubs from the Puerto Rico Islanders to the Vancouver Whitecaps.
