BATAVIA, Ohio---For the second time this season and third time in her career, Hillery Wilson earned medalist honors, as she captured the University of Cincinnati Fall Classic which concluded on Tuesday at Elks Run Golf Course.
Wilson, just a sophomore, overcame a one shot deficit entering the round to take the take the title by one shot over Toledo's Tammy Clelland. Wilson finished the tournament with a score of 151 after shooting a second round 77.
The team standings showed Toledo taking the team title with a score of 615. Bradley was second at 630, nine shots ahead of the Bearcats in third. UC's "B" squad finished eighth with a score of 700.
Allison Mayborg joined Wilson in the top-three, tying for third with an identical second round score of 77. Mayborg ended the tournament just two shots off the top spot at 153.
UC also got career-best performances from juniors Mya Pronschinske and Jaclyn Nimer. Playing as members of the Bearcats' "B" squad, Pronschinske shot a career-low 75 to finish 13th overall. Her score was five shots better than her previous best. Nimer equaled her career-best with an 81 to finish tied for 33rd.
The Bearcats will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule next week, traveling to the Pat Bradley Championships in Miami, Fla. The tournament will be held from Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
