CINCINNATI, Ohio---The University of Cincinnati baseball team is in the midst of a busy fall season as it prepares for the 2006 campaign, its first in the BIG EAST Conference. The Bearcats' will highlight the fall practice session with their annual Scout Day, along with the five-game Red/Black World Series.

Scout Day, which gives professional scouts the opportunity to see the Bearcat players in action, will take place on Thursday (Oct. 27) at 3:45 p.m. in the UC Baseball Stadium.

The five-game Red/Black World Series will split the Bearcat roster into two teams and will begin on Saturday, Nov.5. Admission is free and open to the public. The complete schedule for the World Series is as follows:

  • Saturday, Nov. 5, 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 6, 1 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 11, 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 12, 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 13, 1 p.m.

"We are looking forward to finishing the fall with some simulated competition," stated Bearcat head coach Brian Cleary. "We have a few positions up in the air and many guys battling for playing time. I am very anxious to see our guys perform and see what shakes out. In addition, I think its a great way for fans to get a sneak peek at our 2006 team."
