CINCINNATI, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team will play host to Providence College on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in the first round of the 2005 BIG EAST Tournament. The Bearcats and Friars will meet for the second time this season at Gettler Stadium, as the teams played to a 1-1 tie on Sept. 18. UC makes its first appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament in its first year in the league.
The Bearcats, a No. 3 seed in the Red Division, finished the regular season with a 10-6-2 overall record and a 6-3-2 mark in BIG EAST play. The No. 6 seed from the Blue Division, Providence closed its regular season with a 5-3-7 overall mark and a 3-3-4 ledger in conference action.
Kenny Anaba (9 goals, 3 assists) and Omar Cummings (7 goals, 7 assists) lead the Bearcats and rank fifth in the BIG EAST with 21 points apiece.
The match will feature raffles including UC-West Virginia football tickets, gift certificates, and other prizes, and haltime activities.
