STORRS, Conn. -- University of Cincinnati men's soccer players Omar Cummings (Old Harbour, Jamaica/Cincinnati State) and Kenny Anaba (Westerville, Ohio/Worthington Christian) have earned All-BIG EAST honors for the 2005 season. Cummings was unanimously named to the first team, while Anaba garnered third-team recognition.
Cummings, who tied with Anaba for fifth in the conference in scoring, tallied seven goals and seven assists while starting all 19 matches at forward for the Bearcats. The junior was named Soccer America Player of the Week and BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 20 after scoring both of UC's goals in a 2-0 victory against No. 1 Connecticut on Sept. 16.
Anaba, a sophomore forward, led UC with nine goals, and posted a hot streak in the middle of the season in which he scored in eight of 10 matches. He also added three assists.
