CINCINNATI, Ohio---Game three of the University of Cincinnati's Red/Black World Series ended in a 2-2 tie, as action was halted after eight innings on Friday night. With just two games remaining in the series, the Red team holds a 2-0-1 advantage.

LaFringe Hayes proved to be the hero of the night for the Red team as he gunned out walk-on Roger Prettyman at the plate in the last of the eighth for what would have been the game-winning run. Hayes added two of his team's seven hits to lead the Red Team.

The Black Team, which also finished with seven hits, got two each from junior college transfer Kyle Rapp and true freshman Adam Yeager. Rapp and Jack Nelson contributed RBI for the Black squad.

The first run of the game came in the top of the second as Red Team catcher Nick Maragas ripped his second home run of the series, a solo shot. The Black squad came back to even the score in the bottom of the third as Yeager scored on an RBI base hit by Rapp.

The Red Team pushed ahead once more in the third as Keith Kampe scampered home on a Black squad error. Yeager once again tied the game when he scored on Nelson's single in the fifth.

On the mound, the Red team got another solid pitching performance from sophomore Adam Calez. Calez worked four innings, allowing one run on four hits, with a walk and three strikeouts. Steve Blevins started on the mound for the Black Team, yielding two runs on four hits and two walks in four innings. A.J. Upton was also outstanding, striking out three in two innings and allowing just one hit.

Game four of the series is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch on Saturday. The finale will also go off at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
