NEW YORK, New York ? University of Cincinnati men's soccer player Jeremiah Gallegos has been drafted in the fourth round by the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer's Supplemental Draft held on Feb. 4 in New York. Gallegos is the second ever Bearcat to be drafted by the MLS and the second in the last two seasons.

Gallegos, drafted 46th overall, was the Bearcats' third-leading scorer in 2004, posting seven goals for 14 points. He started 17 matches and scored two game-winners last season. The 2001 team MVP, he was named the Bearcats' Freshman of the Year in 2000.

"We're very happy and excited for Jeremiah," said UC head coach Hylton Dayes. "He has worked very hard throughout his career at UC and now has the opportunity to prove he can play at the next level."

Gallegos, a Laguna Beach, Calif. native, will play alongside former UC teammate Josh Gardner, who was drafted in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft last season.
