Again in 2006, the University of Cincinnati volleyball program will host a series of camps to provide youth players with the best in on-court training. UC head coach Reed Sunahara, the winningest coach in school history, and his staff are pleased to once provide the finest in on-court training and team development.
The 2006 summer camp series will present four camps that will cater to a variety of skill and experience levels. Some of the highlights include: low camper to coach ratios, increased on court training and skill development, camp notebooks, coaches packets, t-shirts, volleyballs for each player and some of the finest volleyball coaches in North America! "Over 500 athletes were trained last summer and the results were excellent," says Sunahara. "We had several of our teams go on to their best season's ever and many of the campers made teams and gained starting positions based on what they had learned in the summer. If your team is serious about improving and competing at a high level, this camp is an excellent way to get ready for the high school season."
"I attribute a large portion of our successful turnaround this past season to the efforts of the University of Cincinnati Women's Volleyball Program. We went from a record of 7-16 in 2004 to 17-6, a share of a conference championship and achieved a birth in sectional final with their help. Their knowledge of the game, enthusiasm for teaching and uniquely positive way of relating to our team and showing them how to be great players made a huge impact on our program. Registration has never been easier, as free online registration is now available. Confirmed dates for 2006 include:
- July 13th to 16th--Team Camp
- July 17th to 19th--Hitter/Setter/Libero Camp
- July 17th to 19th--Youth Camp
- July 27th to 30th--All Skills Camp
All campers that choose an overnight camp will be housed in the Calhoun Dormitory on UC's campus.
