CINCINNATI, Ohio---The University of Cincinnati baseball team, in preparation for its Feb. 10 season-opener, officially kick off full-squad practice this afternoon (Jan. 27) in the UC Baseball Stadium. The Bearcats will play their first of three intersquad scrimmages of the weekend in the first practice.
"We are very excited to get the whole team together and begin official practice," stated Bearcat head coach Brian Cleary. "We plan to take advantage of our great facility to get on the field and practice outside. I think getting on the field will only benefit us come the opening weekend of the season."
During the month of January, the Bearcats have gone through small group and individual instruction with Cleary and his coaching staff. Today's practice is the first of 12 sessions in anticipation of Cincinnati's first series of the year, Feb. 10-12 at reigning national runner-up and preseason second-ranked Florida.
