CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving teams swept dual meet victories from Wright State on Jan. 28 at St. Xavier's Keating Natatorium. The men improved their dual meet record to 5-6 on the year with a 113-91 victory. The women (4-6-1) won, 114-90.

Prior to the meet, the Bearcats honored seniors Dominique DeBruin (La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla), Ann Degenstein (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands), David Gustavsson (Aby, Sweden/Ebersteinska), Kelly Hagen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy), Val Lindsey (San Antonio, Texas/John Marshall), Akvilina Vaicaityte (Kaunas, Lithuania/Kaunas Jesuit Gymnasium), Ryan Yearwood (Port of Spain, Trinidad/Queen's Royal College).

The Bearcats captured 18 of the 22 event titles, with Paola Rivas (Mexico City, Mexico/Mission Viejo), Gerdien de Jong (Bussum, Netherlands), and Gustavsson each capturing two titles. The men and women each posted nine individual wins, including the 200 free relay (men: 1:23.13, women: 1:37.92) and 200 medley relay (men: 1:32.76, women: 1:49.65).

The Bearcats will head to for a dual meet with the Kentucky Wildcats on Sat., Feb. 4. It will be the final tune-up for UC before the 2006 BIG EAST Championships, which begin on Thur., Feb. 15, in
