CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati will begin spring football practice on Tuesday, March 28 and conclude with the annual Red-Black spring game on Saturday, April 22.
The Bearcats will begin preparations for their second season in the BIG EAST Conference with sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons plus a Saturday morning practice the first two weeks of spring drills. The practice sessions will move to Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for the second two weeks.
Weekday practices are scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. with the Saturday sessions at 11 a.m.
The spring game on April 22 will culminate Football Lettermen's Weekend. The 12th annual event will begin with a golf outing at Pebble Creek Golf Course on Friday, April 21. The Bearcat Pig Roast dinner on Friday evening will feature a reunion of the 1981 UC football team.
Featured lettermen at this year's event will be Jim Leo (1956-59), 1959 team captain and four-year NFL player, and Robert Tate (1993-96), a 10-year NFL veteran and current member of the Arizona Cardinals. Additionally, Dick McPherson, a Bearcat assistant coach in 1965 and longtime Syracuse head coach, will be honored as a special guest.
The Jim Kelly Captains Breakfast will be held on Saturday morning.
