CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Former University of Cincinnati women's basketball standout Valerie King, the second-leading scorer in school history, will be honored at halftime of Saturday's game between UC and Louisville at Fifth Third Arena.
King, who finished her career with 2,156 points, will be presented with the game ball from her 2,000th point and a plaque commemorating her inclusion on the Conference USA All-Decade Team. Her named will also be added to the list of UC all-Americans on the north wall in Fifth Third Arena.
A native of Washington Court House, Ohio, King graduated in 2003 as one of only three UC players to score 2,000 points, behind Oscar Robertson and Cheryl Cook. She also concluded her career in fifth-place in NCAA history in three-point field goals.
Also to be honored at halftime will be the 2005-06 UC Cheerleading squad, which placed eighth at this year's national cheerleading championships.
Tip off for Saturday's game is at 2 p.m. It is Girl Scout Day and all Girl Scouts will be admitted for $2.
