-- The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team will play some of the top teams in the nation during its eight-match spring schedule.

"This is a very challenging spring schedule that will help the development of our team as we prepare for the 2006 fall season," head coach Hylton Dayes said.

The schedule opens on March 22 as the Bearcats take on the U.S. U-17 National Team in , , the first of three matches on an eight-day spring break trip to the . UC will then battle Central Florida and on March 25 in .

The Bearcats will play at seven-time national champion Indiana, on March 31 at 7:30 p.m. as a part of the Midwest Coaches Symposium. UC will also entertain at Gettler Stadium on April 15. Both teams earned top 16 seeds in the 2005 NCAA College Cup.

The Bearcat Invitational on April 8 at Gettler Stadium will feature UC, Marshall and the Cincinnati Kings of the USL, 's lone professional soccer club. UC will play the Kings, whose roster features two former Bearcats in Jeff Hughes (2004) and John Liersemann (2001-2004), at 12 p.m. will then take on at 3 p.m.

Closing out the spring slate, the alumni match will take place on April 29 at 2 p.m.
