CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Members of the University of Cincinnati men's soccer team and their coaching staff stepped off the field and into the kitchen to cook a meal for children and their families at the Ronald McDonald House on Feb. 22.

The Bearcat student-athletes and coaches made tacos and baked brownies for the families at the house, located just west of the Cincinnati Zoo on Erkenbrecher Drive.

"It was a wonderful experience for all of us," said assistant coach Joe Spagnola. "We feel that it is very important to be active and give back to the community. Everyone at the Ronald McDonald House was great and we hope to continue to help them and their organization in anyway possible."

Ronald McDonald House Charities offers support for families of children who are being treated at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and other local medical centers, providing a place for families to sleep, eat and meet others facing similar circumstances. The Ronald McDonald House is supported by local businesses, McDonald's owners and operators, and a large base of volunteers.

"It was a great chance for us to interact with members of our community," noted sophomore Noah Davidson. "We enjoy helping out when we can and it's always nice to be able to give something back."
