SETTING THE SCENE: Cincinnati closes its regular season at Marquette on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. ET. The Bearcats, who fell to 17-9 overall and 7-8 in the league with an overtime loss to Notre Dame on Saturday, will be looking to improve their standing in the 2006 BIG EAST Championship. They stand tied for 10th-place currently, but are just one game out of seventh. The Golden Eagles are 17-9 and at 8-7 in the league are one of those teams just ahead of UC. They have dropped their last two games to league-leaders Rutgers and Connecticut.
