ORLANDO, Fla.---Marianne Erb posted her second top-10 finish of the year, concluding the UCF Invitational tied for seventh place to lead the University of Cincinnati women's golf team in its spring-opening event.
Erb, a freshman, followed up her career-best round of 73 from Monday with a 76 on Tuesday to finish at 149. Sophomore Hillery Wilson was second in the UC rundown, carding a 78, identical to her opening round score, to tie for 28th place overall. Susan Narn of Florida International shot back-to-back rounds of 71 to win the tournament by two strokes over Heather Hargemann of Florida Gulf Coast.
The team standings showed UC slipping into a tie for 10th in the final scores, after a final round total of 322. The Bearcats finished the tournament at 633 to end tied with Florida Gulf Coast. Rollins won the team title with a 595, three shots better than Florida International.
UC will take a break from competition until March 6-7, when it travels to Murray, Ky. for the Big River Telephone Classic. The tournament, hosted by Murray State, will be played at the Miller Golf Club.
