CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla.---Chelsa Dooley fired a final round 76 and Allison Mayborg shot a 79, helping the University of Cincinnati women's golf team jump to 10th in the final rundown at the Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate which concluded on Tuesday.
Dooley recovered from a second round score of 92 to jump 20 spots on the final day of play, finishing the 54-hole event tied for 32nd at 245. Mayborg also finished tied for 32nd, as both players totaled 245 for the tournament.
Maryland won the team title with a final score of 916, nine shots better than second-place Florida Atlantic. UC trailed ninth place Xavier by just one stroke, shooting a final round 322 to end the event at 984. June Bolme of Florida Atlantic shot a final round 72 to win individual medalist honors with a total of 220.
The Bearcats will be back in action later this week, hosting the Cincinnati Spring Invitational at the Plantation Inn Golf Course in Crystal River, Fla. The tournament will take place on March 24-25.
