Like a lot of college students, the University of Cincinnati men's soccer team has traveled to Florida for spring break. Unlike most college students, the Bearcats are preparing for the upcoming fall season with two-a-day training sessions and matches against the U.S. U-17 National Team, Central Florida, and Rollins College. Over the next six days, the UC players will share their experiences through the UC Soccer Spring Break Diaries. Today's entry was submitted by Sam Miller.

Our second day in was a little of the same and a little different from the first. The weather remained tremendous, warm temperatures with a clear blue sky makes three inches of snow back home seem so far away! We trained at 10 am going over defensive and overall game tactics. After training, everyone had a choice of golfing, visiting the spacious outlet mall, hanging out by the pool, or for some, a relaxing nap. With the weather cooperating the training and the free time afterwards have been enjoyable and relaxing. Following free time we went back to work on the training field focusing on finishing and then walking through set piece strategy for tomorrow's match. Finishing as the sun set, guys returned to the pool to cool off and waited for our pizza dinner. We ordered pizza enabling us to watch the Bearcat basketball team play in the second round of the NIT. The coaches are players are turning the lights out early tonight in preparation for our drive across to tomorrow. The team and coaching staff are trying to get back into a regular training schedule in gearing up for a challenging spring schedule with the likes of the U-17 National Team, perennial national power , and an team coming off of an Elite 8 appearance in the NCAA tournament. The next installment of Bearcat Spring Break Diary will recap our game against the U-17 National Team on Wednesday.
