, - The University of men's soccer team blanked the United States U-17 National Team, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon at . The opening match of UC's spring season, the Bearcats got two first-half goals and cruised to victory.
Omar Cummings tallied the first Bearcat goal, firing home a free kick in the fourth minute of the friendly. Twenty minutes later, Cummings made a run down the right side and fed a pass through the box and onto the foot of Kwame Sarkodie, who tapped it in for a 2-0 lead.
Sam Miller put the match away in the 90th minute as he broke through several tackles, sidestepped the goalkeeper, and put home the final goal.
The Bearcats will continue their spring season on Saturday, March 25, when they take on Central Florida and in .
