CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla.---Hillery Wilson shot an opening round 78 to lead the University of Cincinnati women's golf team in it's own invitational, being held this weekend at the Plantation Inn Golf Course.

Wilson, who was forced to withdraw from UC's tournament earlier this week, recovered to take a share of fourth place after one day of play. The sophomore trails Jamie Raines of Wichita State by just three strokes for the top spot entering the final day of competition.

In the team standings, the Bearcats sit a disappointing fourth in the five-team field. UC shot a combined score of 329 on Friday, well above the squad's average of 319.7. Illinois holds a comfortable 14 stroke lead over UAB and Wichita State after a score of 313 in the opening round.

After Wilson, freshman Chelsa Dooley and Marianne Erb share the 14th position after each golfer carded an opening round 83. Allison Mayborg is tied for 20th at 85.

The tournament will conclude on Saturday with the final 18 holes, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
