UC Posts Top Five Finishes at Raleigh

, - The University of Cincinnati track and field teams posted 15 top-five finishes at the prestigious Raleigh Relays on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25, at the Paul Derr Track on the campus of .

The Bearcat men had 21 top-15 finishers, including the 4x100 relay team, which placed first. Senior Chandler Groves (/Wayne Trace) was UC's top individual finisher, placing second in the long jump with a 24' 6-1/4" leap. Andrew Smith (, /Coshocton) placed third in the high jump (6' 6-3/4"), while John Bowie (/Northland) was fourth in the 100 meter dash, crossing the line in 10.75.

The top women's finisher was Tara Meier (/Colerain), who placed second in the pole vault, clearing 11' 9-3/4". Renee Hein (/Mother of Mercy) was fifth in the high jump with a 5' 5" clearance.

Former Bearcat and current member of the Indiana Invaders Brandon Hon won the 110 meter hurdles, finishing in 13.87.

The Bearcats will return home to host the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on April 1. Field events will begin at 11 a.m. in Gettler Stadium.
